What you'll do
We will visit the oldest neighborhoods of Barcelona: Gothic Quarter, Born and Raval. Walking through its old streets, we will talk [Un]Censored about one of the most controversial artists who lived in the city: Pablo Picasso. We will know the historic bar where he expose for the first time: Els 4 Gats. We will talk about its history and the connection with the artist, and then enter the area where he lived and show the place where he studied Fine Arts. In order to know his first steps as an artist and be able to understand how he became the artist that everyone now venerates. We will contemplate a street art replica of "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon". The original painting is exhibited at the MoMA in New York and changed the art forever, since it is considered the paint that began with Cubism, a style created by Picasso. Then we will visit Artevistas, an art gallery where we can enjoy the new generation artists and perhaps find the Picasso of the 21st century. We will finish at the Raval, where we will know the area of the city that the artist liked best to spend his free time. We will visit Marsella Bar, one of the oldest of Barcelona and we will toast as Picasso did since it conserve the same decoration and style when he visited it for the last time.
I have been a citizen of Barcelona for over 17 years, I studied Political Science in Montevideo and am currently studying Sociology in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, also I am a youth basketball referee. I am passionate about history and love sharing it with others, that's why i have worked as a tour guide for several years and I love doing it. I like to show visitors the perspective of a local, so that they can understand and live the city better. This experience gives me the opportunity to combine these activities with the passion to show the city where I have chosen to live.
We will invite a drink at Marsella Bar to toast as the artist did.
We will send a PDF with important information about the city and we will keep in touch in all your stay in order to know the…
