What you'll do

Love hiking and coffee? You've found the right place.

We have over 300 waterfalls around Brevard and searching different trail websites gets confusing to try and pick which one to visit, so I will make it easy, we’ll visit three of my personal favorites along a 3 mile loop. The terrain is mostly flat, gravel trail with one steep section (about 70 yards) that will get your heart pumping, but the views are worth the climb.

Here's our plan.

1. We will meet at The Hooker Falls Parking Area in DuPont State Forest. We'll hike to Hooker Falls first. Easy, breezy hike.

2. Near the second waterfall, Triple Falls, we will break for coffee. You will explore the area around falls and I will collect water from the waterfall and use a backpacking water filtration system - the same type of system I used while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Great water makes for even better coffee. You'll taste and see. I will have ALL the coffee brewing supplies in my backpack including my own line of coffee roasted with local roaster, Pisgah Coffee Roasters.

3. We'll sit and enjoy some time in nature before hiking on to High Falls, a stunning end to our adventure. It’s my favorite waterfall in the area.

Along the way, I'm also happy to answer any and all questions you may have about long distance backpacking or about what to do in the Brevard area. I LOVE this town too much!
Other things to note
If you finish the coffee hike and feel like the experience exceeded your expectations, tipping is appreciated but not expected or required.

Sometimes it rains, and we can hike in light rain. But if it is storming, fret not! I have a backup plan. We can seek shelter in the pavilion near the falls

Hello there!

Really, all I want to do in life is drink coffee and hike trails. And I live in the best town on earth for both, Brevard NC. I want to share some of these beautiful forests with you while enjoying a nice cup of coffee in the woods.

As far as hiking experience, I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail (all 2,000+ miles) and I am a regular to the many waterfalls in Pisgah, DuPont, and Gorges State Park. I have a Commercial Use permit for guiding in DuPont State Forest (Make sure any hiking guide you choose has one or your experience could be canceled) And, I am working towards my dream of opening my own coffee shop. Not to brag, but I make a mean pour over. I will guide you on a lovely hike and pair it with the perfect coffee.

Where you'll be

Dupont State Forest is a beautiful area for hiking and the easily accessible trails make it the perfect day hiking option for visiting waterfalls.
Hooker Falls - a 14 foot cascading falls
Triple Falls - three distinct cascades totaling about 120′ in vertical drop.
High Falls - My personal favorite - 120 feet down an inclined plane of granite.

We had the most wonderful time on the most perfect day! Katlyn was so great to chat about her past hiking adventures and really made our day as we would have no idea where to go or probably wouldnt have otherwise. It was one of the highlights of our trip and her coffee was yummy!

Well where do I start? Katlyn was a delight to communicate with in the time leading up to our Waterfalls hike. Her meetup directions are spot-on, and she has such an easy-going, friendly way about her. She guides you along trails of mountain laurels to stunning views, and treats you to a beautiful and delicious trail-side coffee experience...highly recommend!! Ps if you have a medical condition and/or aren’t an experienced hiker, just let her know beforehand and she will happily curate the perfect personalized hiking experience for your party 🤗

This was one of the best AirBnB experiences we have done. From all three waterfalls to getting to bring our dog to her own roasted coffee beans and professional pour over system by the water. Gorgeous experience and totally Covid safe.
