About me

A lifelong paddler and river lover, Natalie professionally guided canoe trips for years and is excited to share the Mississippi River with others! She was one of the first two women to paddle from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay and is the author of Hudson Bay Bound: Two Women, One Dog, Two Thousand Miles to the Arctic. She has also canoed the length of the Mississippi River and won first place in the Yukon River Quest in the women’s voyageur division, paddling 450 miles in fifty-three hours. Natalie has her PhD in communication studies with a focus on environmental communication and is working on her second book about the Mississippi River.
