What you'll do

Get down and dirty exploring Sintra’s wild heart – with a cheeky side of culture and food – on this whole-day adrenaline-pumping journey. We’ve been exploring this crazy beautiful and mysterious mountain landscape since we could slip past mum’s watchful eyes. So trust us that to really know Sintra you have to go beyond the walls of its many palaces. That said, it would be rude to drive past the UNESCO World Heritage town and not share a saucy story or two before we dive into the forest.

Our restored ex-military vintage 4WDs look cool as hell but they’re also the best way to tackle the terrain in the wild, wild west. Our favourite unmarked secret trails will lead us to remote natural and built monuments that no other tourists ever reach. From untouched lakes to ancient hilltop convents, we’ll pull up at the coolest hidden gems and chase non-stop adventure in Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. In the cooler months we keep the roof on, turn the music up (real loud) and splash through puddles of mud as we swerve past house-sized boulders, pine forests and giant ferns.
After a damn good lunch at a cheap-and-cheerful village restaurant we’ll direct our 4x4 chariot for the coastline. Feel the sand beneath your feet and dive into the cool, salty sea (if you dare). Our secret beach is surrounded by incredible soaring cliffs. Before the day wraps up, we’ll head for the edge of the earth.
Other things to note
Lunch is not included, but expect to pay just €15-20 with wine.
Your driver generally hosts in English, but we also speak Portuguese, Spanish and French.

Olá, we’re FlaminGO Experiences! As little kids exploring their wild streaks we left no stone unturned in our magical hometown Sintra. Our mums complained when we came home dirty, tired and covered in cuts and bruises, but the mountains and coast were – and still are – our playground. Now we know almost every hidden secret and we’ve turned our passion for adventure, storytelling and vintage jeeps into our jobs. Between castles and the coastline we like to go beyond ordinary – driving off-road, eating local sweets, and snapping Polaroids at the beach. If you’re ready for one of the coolest days of your life (2000+ 5-star reviews back that up) – let’s GO! P.S Click Francisco's photo to check out our other journeys out or stalk us on IG @flamingo_experiences

Where you'll be

Just 30-minutes from downtown Lisbon, we’ll spend the day exploring the wild, remote areas of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. From castles to the coastline our restored UMM jeeps will bring off-road thrills. We’ll explore mountain trails, visit a 12th-century convent with epic 360-degree views, dance on the sand at Adraga Beach, drop by mainland Europe’s westernmost point, Caba da Roca, plus stop for lunch and snacks along the way.

This experience is a must do :) All of us began the day as strangers but ended it as friends. This experience had a way of pulling everyone together while creating a fun and adventurous way of seeing Portugal and learning about its amazing history. Our guides were very accommodating and we especially appreciated the water, blankets, and unique Portuguese pastry and drink along the way. We would’ve never seen some of these places they took us too as much of it is off the beaten track so it was wonderful to be able to see Portugal’s hidden gems with a wonderful group of people! HIGHLY recommend, this experience is one of a kind :)
