What you'll do

This is a one day class for all of beginners. We meet up at a cozy cafe near Hongdae, Seoul. I teach you how to express yourself in Korean, so that you can talk with the locals while you stay here. We start off with the basics like greeting, gratitude, apology, ordering food and drink and such. You also learn about essential conversation skills whatever you want to know about real Korean culture beyond K-pop, K-drama and those kind of stuff.

I’ve been teaching Korean in English to people from all over the world since 2016. Most of all, I’m such a traveler, so I’ve visited around over 30 countries so far, exploring the whole world and cultural differences. I’ve also made a counseling book and a travel documentary movie for international film festivals.

He clearly had a good grasp both languages, and prepared a helpful sheet to take away with you. He was friendly and asked questions to make it more personal. For example, he asked where I lived then related Korean to Chinese, as I said I was learning that too.

Ungyu is a very competent teacher. He gave us a list of commonly used words used by tourists in Korea. it would be nice if he explained a bit more of the consonants and sounds so we can recognise simple words we see in korea. The lesson was stated to be 2 hours, but it was done in less than 1.5hrs. The price is reasonable for a short crash course, and it definitely pushes us to get proper lessons if we wanted to know more. The place of meeting up was easy to find with the instructions from Ungyu.

I had a great experience with Ungyu. He is fluent in English and really was able to explain the lesson. I appreciate the comfortable vibe he gives off. I would definitely recommend doing this. A few words go a long way in Korea. Thanks again!

This experience is a must do for first timers to Seoul (or those who - like me - haven’t been for a long time) and have no knowledge of the Korean language. Ungyu teaches you the most useful phrases for your visit. I regret not doing this sooner in the trip but when I’m back in the city I know what I’ll be booking!

Ungyu was a nice host. He speaks English very well (self taught, impressive!) and provides material to learn helpful and important words/phrases to help you get through your stay in Korea or in any scenario. He was open to any questions and patient.
