What you'll do

We still go hike during covid! Send us a message on airbnb or on our instagram: @vallartanaturetrips or facebook: Puerta Vallarta Nature Trips

We will meet in the center of Puerto Vallarta to take a bus direction south of the city.

After a 20 min drive we will get of at a bus stop and start walking in the tropical forest. You will get to know lots of different plants, animals and learn about the river. We will follow a path that changes depending the amount of rain that has fallen and that crosses the river multiple times. Feet can get wet!

After one hour of walking and some impressive views we reach the first waterfall. Here we can take pictures, rest a bit and have water and fruits. Here between the rocks we have a refreshing swim between the fishes in the small lake. There is even a spot to jump into the water and a small cave!

For the ones that are still not satisfied we keep hiking up until a next set of waterfalls embedded in between rough rocks and jungle before to get back to Puerto vallarta.
Other things to note
This hike can be done at any time of the day. If there are problems with availability or if you want to change the time or day of the activity, just send me a message!

Hi all, we are three friends, Guillermo, Eduardo and Matthias, living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We love nature and we hike a lot. We share the passion for adventure and discovering new places, always in search of beautiful nature and little paradises.

Around Puerto Vallarta exist a lot of magical places: mountains, waterfalls and tropical forest. Rare animals can be seen.

This was a great hike! It was a bit harder than what i have expected. Eddie is a great guide and he is passionate and made the hike easier and fun. I recommend it. Keep in mind that this is advanced intermediary level hike, a lot of sweat. I am glad that i went.

Moderately strenuous hike due to rocky terrain and having to cross the river multiple times by jumping/stepping on stones in the water. Fun group activity, but the waterfall itself and river/views aren’t super impressive. It’s more just getting a sense of the local flora and the group experience of doing a short river hike together.

This hike in the jungle and to the waterfall was one of my favorite activities of my whole trip to Puerto Vallarta. The hike is a bit challenging, but the waterfall and the view at the top of the mirador are totally worth the effort. I hiked with Eduardo and he was a great and entertaining guide. I would highly recommend this to anyone in town looking for an experience with a less touristy vibe.

Warning! This hike is not for the weak or super young. It’s a pretty rigorous hike with a lot of physical activity. Definitely come prepared with proper shoes & clothes so that you’re able to endure the hike to the best of your ability. The waterfalls were beautiful, it was full of lots of athletic activity, & the Matthias and Brenda were extremely helpful the entirety of the hike. I would definitely highly recommend!
