What you'll do
When you arrive, we will have brief coffee/tea time and chat to get to know each other better, then you receive a brief pottery studio introduction. Joanna will show you how to build either a coiled/slab cup, a small vase, nut bowl or a succulent pot. She will share with you many creative ways to decorate your clay object(s). You can emboss with Mojave Desert sand, texture with local plants or paint your own pattern using colorful underglazes. As you create Joanna, will answer any questions you may have or help with challenges you experience. We will bisque, glaze, fire, than ship your creation to you. Shipping is NOT included in the class price, but will be set based on the size of your creation. If you choose to ship your pottery, you will pay a flat fee of $35 for shipping during the class time via card, check, or cash. You are also free to pick up directly from us if you live in the area.
Joanna Szachowska and her husband Artur are the creative duo Dust Ceramics. They moved from Warsaw to the Mojave Desert in 2016 to create their mindful, modern ceramics.
