What you'll do
Up to 2 students will learn how to make a single wooden bowl together from beautiful hardwood. I offer a selection of woods to choose from including cherry, maple, and other hardwoods. We will complete ONE finished bowl in 2.5 hours of hands-on instruction. NOTE! I can schedule this event any time or day - just let me know what day you want.
I have been a wood worker for over 40 years and have a fine arts degree in woodworking and photography. I have made furniture for many years and my home is filled with it. Over the last 16 years or so, I've been doing a lot of wood turning - making artworks and wooden bowls. The bowl making process that I teach usually starts with recently cut wood that is still wet. The finished bowl may change shape over several weeks as it dries so that it becomes oval or boat shaped. This unconventional process is part of the organic magic of working with green wood.
