I graduated as a Navy officer from the Brazilian Naval Academy. Upon completing my studies therein, I graduated in History from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) and then pursued my Master's degree in the University of Brasilia. I'm currently a Social History PhD student in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where I specialise in 19th-century History, mainly around themes such as civilisation, barbarianism, politics and power in society.
