What you'll do

This walk starts at 10:50 and ends around 2. It combines the best of Marin: an outstanding nature and view hike, just a 30-minute ferry ride from San Francisco, followed by a tasty craft beer session at a nearby microbrewery. We meet at Larkspur Ferry Terminal after your scenic ferry ride on San Francisco Bay (ferry ticket not included) then shuttle to the wonderfully scenic hills of the Tiburon Peninsula for a 90-minute trail walk high above San Francisco Bay. Enjoy the amazing views of the city, Mt. Tamalpais, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito and the luxury residential neighborhoods of the Tiburon peninsula that spread out before you in all directions. After photographing the scenery, searching for rare wildflowers and exploring ancient Native American petroglyphs, we head back to the Marin Country Mart and the locals' favorite brewpub--the Marin Brewing Company--for a pint of their renowned craft beer (included). The ferry landing is a short walk across a pedestrian bridge from the Marin Brewing Company for your return ferry ride to San Francisco.

Note: If the walk isn't on the calendar or fully booked, we might be able to accommodate you. This refreshing and fun walk is also ideal for company team outings!

I grew up in the redwoods forests of Mount Tamalpais in Mill Valley. Scenic, nature-rich southern Marin was literally a vast playground for myself and my childhood pals. I used this passion for the outdoors to found a nature walking company, Coastal Walkers.

This refreshing hike loops through a nature preserve in beautiful Marin, just a short ferry ride from downtown San Francisco. Our 1.5 hour amble is followed by a visit to a popular brewery next to the ferry landing--and the first pint is on me!

This was such a great way to spend one of our mornings on our first vacation to San Francisco! Ben was great from start to finish, he answered the phone and was really helpful when trying to obtain the best directions to get on the ferry ride. He was already waiting for us when we got to larkspur to meet him, he took us straight to the hiking area and it was beautiful, we had so much fun. Ben then took us to the microbrewery and we loved it, great beer!! Ben was the best, If you want a great experience with great beer and view, this is a great deal and lots of fun.

It was a great day and well worth every penny. Ben has amazing knowledge about the local area and shared stories of his childhood and past which created a story of how he has developed this passion for this area. The day was seamless, Ben offered us backpacks water and hiking equipment to complete our experience. We would highly recommend Ben if you fancy learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

A fantastic taste - figuratively and literally - of Marin County! The route they've chosen is beautiful and has a lot of opportunities to see native plants and wildlife. The beer-to-hiking ratio is perfectly balanced :)

Our group did the short hike (about 2 hrs) . It was not overly strenuous, something just about anyone could do. The views were beautiful the information they shared was interesting and we had some laughs along the way. We followed up with a delicious lunch and drinks and more engaging conversation. It was just the right amount of time to spend and left us with plenty of time (and energy) to explore other areas and do other stuff with our day. I would definitely recommend doing this!

On our trip to Napa we decided to take a day off from wineries and I’m very happy we did....we saw views and nature we would not have experienced on our own while here. Ben and Greg were awesome guides..both friendly and knowledgeable. I have a desk job and hiking is not something I do but I did It! (Which means almost anyone could ) the view from the top overlooking the bay was amazing. The hike ends at a brewery where we had cold beers and good food with Ben and Greg. By the time we left we felt like they were old friends of ours. Perfect end to a great day!

We meet Ben at the ferry lot and drove to the park reserve. We immediately felt welcome as Ben shared his knowledge of the area. Along the hike, Ben talked about the history of reserve and surrounding area from both a historical and personal perspective. He also pointed out flora along the hike from native flowers to aromatics such as the local Bay leaf trees. At the brewery Ben bought our first round. We had a great conversation and he gave us advice about local breweries and additional hikes for the remainder of our stay. We couldn't be happier with our experience!
