What you'll do

The woodland can be inspiring at every time of year. Rough Guide to your day;

10am Arrive at the woods and travel through the wood to the camp kitchen where you will have Tea/Coffee and a slice of cake.

10.30am Woodland Walk / Tour. Explore the boundaries of the wood, visit the different facilities and areas of the wood including significant trees and plant life.

1pm Cooked lunch using our organic veg box and produce from the local butchers in the woodland kitchen on the wood burning stove.

2.30pm Choose your activity;
Option 1. Help to clear an area of the woodland, deal with fallen trees, remove brambles or clear an area around one of the oaks to improve the biodiversity of the woodland. We will provide gloves but you will need sensible clothes and not mind getting dirty.

Option 2. Do your own thing. Perhaps you are into photography, or an artist and you want to use the woodland as a place of inspiration. Perhaps you would like to meditate or exercise (we have a decked area where you can do yoga) or you could find a quiet spot in the wood.

6pm collect your woodland souvenir and depart the woodland.
Other things to note
Don't forget this is a woodland, a natural environment with uneven surfaces and mud. While we have created paths and built a shelter there are no services e.g. hot running water and footwear is key.

Nick and Tanya purchased Honeysuckle Wood in Monmouthshire in 2017. We believe helping to promote biodiversity in a small woodland is part of our commitment to improve the environment we live in for future generations.

We plan to increase the variety of woodland flowers by opening up the woodland floor to increase sunlight, clear areas of scrub to sow wild flower seeds and plant flowering fruit trees which will benefit the insects and birds which inhabit the woods.

This work comes at a cost so your visit to the woodland helps to support this work and our natural environment.

Where you'll be

Our experience is based solely in our woodland. It is a rural environment and although we have paths to take you around the land you will need suitable footwear and clothing for spending the day in the outdoors.
You will be surrounded by trees and plants and have use of the woodland shelters which include a composting toilet and kitchen area with wood burning stove.
