What you'll do
Spend the afternoon exploring six of the best chocolate and pastry shops in Toulouse, as well as strolling through the beautiful cobblestone streets of Toulouse's city center. We'll mix culinary history with interesting facts about Toulouse, learning about some of the sights we pass along the way to the three chocolate shops and three pastry shops that we'll visit. You'll learn about how chocolate is made and how it came to France, the basic building blocks of French patisserie, and the history of some of the local businesses that we visit. At each stop we'll taste things like decadent hot chocolate, pastry classics such as the mille-feuille or Paris Brest, a special recipe for French fudge, roasted cacao beans, single-origin chocolates, macarons, and more! This is a dessert-lover's dream come true.
I'm Jessica, an American in Toulouse. I’ve called "La Ville Rose" my home since 2017 and I’ve spent that time exploring its delicious nooks and crannies. I’m an ex-cheesemonger, certified French Wine Scholar™, and French food obsessive. I also have a HUGE sweet tooth. I've spent months researching and trying the best chocolate and pastry shops in Toulouse, in addition to talking with chocolatiers, pastry chefs + other food experts. My goal is to help make French food/culture less intimidating. I LOVE helping people learn about what they like and get comfortable shopping at local spots!
