What you'll do
We'll meet out at the farm and tour the property. Guests will learn about everything from our traditional acequia irrigation, to each crop in the field. We'll discuss the different seasons of vegetable growing, the unique high desert climate, and how we make a living as small-scale farmers. We will spend just a half hour doing light farm work such as weeding, mulching, or trellising, depending on the needs of that given day, just to give visitors an idea of how it all works and make sure everyone gets their hands a little dirty! It's scientifically proven that dirt = happiness :) We'll wrap up by harvesting a little snack out of the field and relaxing together in the shade.
Hi, I'm Nina! I was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM. My favorite memories from being a little girl include helping my mom in her veggie garden, climbing into the back of the melon guy's truck at the farmers' market to choose a melon, and the smell of roasting green chile in the air every autumn. I've dedicated my adult life to food, farming, and preserving the agricultural heritage that feeds my beloved community. My partner and I have a farm in Pojoaque, NM - a short 20 minute drive north of Santa Fe. We invite you to visit the farm and learn about the unique agriCULTURE of New Mexico.
