Zakiyyah Modeste is a Harlem Resident, artist, lecturer & wellness entrepreneur bridging sound, storytelling & movement to inspire healing, reflection & cultural unity. Her Grandparents Migrated to Harlem from the islands during the Great Migration in 1909 and 1912. They went into the Realestate business and soon had her father in Harlem. Her grandmother and mother also migrated to Harlem from Charleston, South Carolina. Her family was involved with the New Amsterdam Musical Association.
