What you'll do

With this hands-on class, guests will learn how to record, edit, mix, export and upload your own podcast! All students leave the class with a complete project and knowledge of how to create a podcast of their own. During the class, students take a deep dive in to the following: *Proper microphone and recording techniques on a small budget *Quick and easy editing with software like, Reaper or Audacity *Understanding of the necessary gear or equipment needed for your own podcast *Advice on interviewing, conducting research along with the basic Do’s and Don’ts for podcast production *Quality recording practices including use of noise correction, acoustics, and room tone to improve the fidelity of your podcast *Insider information on podcast creation and marketing *Publishing podcasts to service providers for the world to hear *Explore methods for generating revenue for your podcast *What is and how to use an RSS Feed

Matthew

Matthew is a professional audio engineer, composer, and owner of Audius Prime Studios. He is creator, host, and executive producer of the St. Louis podcast, "Blinders Off," a show that explores St. Louis. He holds a BA in audio production and interned with both the St. Louis Symphony and HUM in Santa Monica, CA. In addition to audio, he teaches for a non-profit that provides computer science instruction for students in underserved areas. Matt would love to teach all he knows about audio! Matt's wife, Melissa is an AirBnb Superhost who often assists with with classes and guest communication.

Where you'll be

Class will be conducted in the workshop space located at St. Louis Art Supply in the Central West End, the heart of St. Louis City. St. Louis Art Supply is a highly curated retail & creative space that is connected to Cornflower Coffee & Tea. Cornflower has a great food and drink selection available during class.
