Where you'll be

The tour begins at the entrance of the Huentitán Canyon, in order to descend towards the funicular tracks. We will take the road that leads to the bridge of Arcediano (the ancient door of Guadalajara 19th century) that crosses the road to the viewpoint of the cliff. It is a walk that demands a good physical condition (extremely necessary) as well as the clothes and non-slip shoes necessary to make the tour.

My guide was Baruc, he is easy to get along with and is an interesting guy. He knows the area well and had knowledge of the history of the people, the land and the country. I’m a 52yo guy in good shape and hike /run often- the hike was a long uphill back up but there were children and older people also on the trails- don’t be intimidated by this hike. The canyon is beautiful and very interesting. I would go again and would do more hikes with Baruc anytime.

We had Baruc as our English speaking guide and had an absolutely wonderful time! He is very friendly, talkative and knowledgeable. He was more than happy to answer and questions we had, whether it was about the region, Mexican history or food recommendations! The hike itself is beautiful though it isn't for the faint of heart, we're in our late 20s and handled it fine but Baruc helps you pace for the return journey. Sunrise in the cayon was beautiful and the views are spectacular, its crazy how close this is to the city! We wouldve struggled to find our way around with our minimal Spanish and the lack of singage. Well worth it, and a kudos to Baruc - you're a true asset!

Abraham wasn’t our tour guide but his colleague Baruc was and he was great! Baruc was very knowledgeable and was very friendly and fun! We were singing and cracking jokes the whole way! The hike itself was beautiful. I didn’t think it was that difficult but I also have done lots of treks. I think for someone that doesn’t trek much Abraham’s description is probably very accurate! Totally worth it! 😃

The experience was great, Abraham has many stories that he share with you and you will definitely enjoy his company... The trip can be hard for people who are not used to do similar routes, but this make my experience even better :)

One of the best experiences I've been a part of! Includes beautiful natural scenery of the canyon, enlightening conversations about culture, geography, community and everything in between. It was an extraordinary experience to be among residents and guided by a local himself. Abraham is an extraordinary young man. He's passionate and genuinely interested in sharing cultural differences to enrich one another's lives. He's extremely easy going, kind, organized, and such an inspiring person. The best experiences I believe when visiting another country is when one can immerse themselves and be a part of the community and Abraham provided exactly that and far more than we expected. Definitely the highlight of our trip!

From the moment I saw photos of this magical canyon I knew my husband and I had to hike it. Given some stories I read online about the physical difficulty and also potential directional challenges, I decided to find a guide. We are so lucky to have found Abraham and that he had time to take us on this hike. Communication could not have been better from start to finish, and he graciously agreed to start the hike an hour later than usual for us so that we could get some more sleep. Once on the hike, I was so glad we were with Abraham. He's incredibly friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and deeply caring. He was so easy to talk to and I felt like good friends by the time our hike was over. This hike is tough, as Abraham accurately and responsibly warns in his description. The climb out of the canyon was very tough for me, but Abraham made me feel very comfortable and not at all self-conscious for stopping frequently to catch my breath, even though I knew we were taking longer than budgeted, which means more of his time. He made it clear in words and actions that our safety and enjoyment was his number one priority. He even walked ahead to bring back electrolytes and juice for me. Thank you so much Abraham for your incredible hospitality and an experience we will never forget.
