What you'll do

As a local we know the ups and downs of activities, suitability of the weather, and value for money. A visitor can spend a day just exploring over 200 op, let alone how best to organise everything.
Thats where our guiding starts.
We know what is best for the conditions, what offers the best fun in the time available and most importantly value for money.
Queenstown offers heaps without spending heaps of money.
We start with our tips for your day choosing from:
A kiwi picnic with camp burner for sausages and camp chairs in picturesque location - 3hrs
Climbing a mountain with snacks and lunch - 4 hours
Morning tea picnic - 1 hour
Wine tour and sampling - can take half a day
Walking a forest trail with snacks - 2 hours
Cafe lunch - 2 hours
Walking the shoreline with staggering mountain views with snacks and lunch - 3 hours
History tour at the Museum - 2 hours
Hot pools soak - 2 hours
Gondola to mountain summit
Lake Wakatipu journey to high country station
Kids game galore

Through using our tips you maintain your independence, master of your time, making the most of the Queenstown area.
We do stress, that we are a tip provider and not a guide. It is over to you to ultimately choose what will suit you best and your budget.
We may even help you unravel a misunderstanding over a bill. We have good relationships which we are happy to use.

Other things to note
The Airbnb price covers our guiding cost. Other costs, like all day transport, buying provisions, or an activity such as a hot pool soak, are additional and paid direct to the activity provider. Activity prices are quoted beforehand to help you decide what you want to select. Its your decision.

In my retirement in Queenstown, and being a dedicated yachtie all my life, I completed a Maritime NZ commercial skippers ticket and worked on Lake Wakatipu as a Launch Master. This I did for 4 years.
During this time I was constantly asked for ideas on places to stay, eat, things to do. I realised so many visitors wasted so much time pouring over brochures when they could be off exploring.
When my wife and I did exactly the same thing on a visit to North Queensland, Australia, I realised there had to be a better way.
"Off The Beaten Track" is our answer to those who need guidance.
We had a successful AirBNB private suite in our house but when this collapsed with the arrival of the virus we put our efforts into coming up with another idea.
We are hoping "Off The Beaten Track New Zealand" will be of some value to our new AirBNB client
