What you'll do
You will spend up to 3 hours with Tara in her 50s retro trailer that has been converted into a glass studio. She will start by showing you some basics about equipment, safety and how to identify and use your tools. Then she will instruct you in making a bead from start to finish. Narrating step by step. Next you will jump on to the torch to demonstrate your new skills. In hopes of creating your own pendant. Art created in demo is yours to keep!!
Local artist and freelance designer Tara Rogers learned the art of glassblowing in the underground scene in Portland Oregon. As a young mother and entrepreneur she supported her family on the sales of handblown glass pipes and jewelry, earning her and some fellow boss babes a feature in Hightimes magazine as the “women of glass” she’s been doing a special technique of implosion flowers for over 15 years that she would like to share with you.
