What you'll do
Learn how to fit your backpack, pack it properly from bottom to top, and take a short easy hike from the car to our campsite. Once at the campsite I'll pass out overnight equipment and we'll set it up together. I'll show you how to set up your tent quickly and easily and explain why it works in the backcountry, as opposed to "glam-ping"!
I am a lover of the backcountry and the mountains. From a young age I sought out climbing the mountains and seeking solitude in the wilderness. I've been backcountry camping for 10 years and I have been a guide with the American Mountain Guides Association, as well as a Wilderness First Responder, for 5 years. I spent 3 years working at Adventure 16, an mountain shop where I learned about all the different kinds of camping and backpacking gear. This taught me what items are absolutely essential in the backcountry, and also how to use them to your advantage.
