About your host

My favorite childhood memories are of boating, swimming and fishing on Chesapeake Bay when my family were members of a rustic, communal, waterfront club. I helped to make the old house into a museum on the Register of Historic Places and co-wrote a book about it. I remain devoted to preserving and sharing our local history and nature. Where you'll be

Each trip is a bit different depending upon guests, wind and weather. We normally raise sails immediately as we head toward the Chesapeake. I'll point out wildlife, nautical activity, ships moving in the distance, the Bay Bridges and sometimes we'll poke up the Severn Scenic River. Guests are usually invited to participate in some level of sailing activity. It's a great way to sit back and relax or take the wheel and sail the boat.
