My husband and I had such a memorable experience at the brewery. We travel to Korea every year and love drinking makgulli whenever we can. But we never knew the traditional methods or history behind the drink. The staff and Ava in particular were amazing guides for this makgulli journey and stewards of Korean tradition and modernity. It’s such a unique experience, and of course, the makgulli is delicious. We’ll definitely be sending our friends here

It was such a fun makgeolli brewery tour! Drinking makgeolli freshly produced at the brewery in the heart of downtown Seoul, I was able to learn about Korean makgeolli culture and history in detail. The tour lasts about 30 to 50 minutes, and you can learn about the history of makgeolli and Korean drinking culture, tour the brewery, and spend the remaining 50 minutes or so tasting. During the tasting, it was nice to be able to drink various types of makgeolli mixed with soju. They also gave us a very generous amount of makgeolli... so we finished the tour pleasantly drunk :) Anyway, I highly recommend it! It was a pleasant experience~! Thank you^^

I attended this experience as part of an Airbnb employee promotion. I was able to enjoy this tour and tasting with Kyungwoo, who's tour was able to go back and forth between speaking some English and using a translator app. My experience was during the weekday and it ended up being a very personal tour. I got to learn a lot about the history of Makgeolli and how the brewery is approaching it in a modern way. There brewery is right in front of the subway station, so it was very convenient to get in and out of, which made it easy to fit around the other shopping and tourist attractions. I really enjoyed it and 2 hours flew by in a blink of an eye.

Our host Kim Kyeong Woo is very passionate about 마걸리, shared with us the history of 막걸리 and the development as well as the self developed equipment of the brand. I have to say the AI translation tool slowed down the whole flow of experience, but I appreciate how the host could express the accurate content in his most comfortable language therefore audiences could get the most out of the sharing. The building itself is remarkably designed to show the beauty of 마걸리 drink as well as Korean culture, I enjoyed the little details hidden in the corners. The tasting was paired with many snacks including a rice spread made from the rice used in making the 막걸리 drink. I went with my in-laws and we had a great binding session, recommend anyone who wants to try delicious 막걸리 or share some quality time with your companions.
