The brains behind Nova Goods, I spend my days hiking the canyons of LA, foraging for native plants to dye fabric. I can make extraordinary craft with just a swatch of silk and leftover onion skins.

Courtesy of AirBnB, I was given the opportunity to try out on experience-- Deep Indigo immediately caught my eye as it provides a unique experience as shows just how multifaceted Los Angeles can be-- from the restaurant on Sunset Blvd, nature of Bronson Canyon, to the quaint farmer's market and Aubrey's charming neighborhood. The experience is super interactive, which I loved, and you leave with knowledge about a craft you can further explore on your own. Aubrey was an absolute doll-- so kind and passionate! Would definitely recommend this to individuals who like immersive experiences-- tourists and locals alike!

I took this trip courtesy of Airbnb and it was nothing short of awesome. Aubrey was a FANTASTIC host. What a breath of fresh air she is. Not only was she kind enough to open her home and share her life in Los Angeles, but her personality added such a fun and genuine dynamic to everything that we did. We started with an intimate dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and got to know the other members of our group. The next day we all met up for a beautiful hike through a canyon right near the Hollywood sign. On our hike we were able to take amazing photos and gather natural materials that we used as part of our textile dying workshop. The actual workshop was definitely a lot of time and work but it was worth every second. I learned so much about the process of dying with indigo and left with a serious respect for makers everywhere. It's abundantly clear that Aubrey has a passion for her craft and I felt very lucky to have learned and experienced the process with her. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who has even the slightest curiosity about dying with organic materials. I smile with pride every time I look at my finished product.

This was my first experience on airbnb and, honestly, I didn't know what to expect. I've always been interested in art in general, textiles, etc and so has my sister, so we decided to do this experience while being on a trip to California on february. / / We met the first night and as soon as we met Aubrey all our fears disapeared. She made us feel welcome the very first second. She is lovely and funny, so cheerful and interesting that made a really cool vibe. We also met with the rest of the group who where all amazing as well, and all art driven, so that made it a lot more interesting. / We where the only non- americans, coming all the way from Chile, but we never felt apart or left aside. / We had drinks and tacos which where great! All of it in this amazing place with a mexican night vibe. / / We couldn't make it the next day due to timing issues, so on Sunday we met again at the farmer's market near Aubrey's place. We took a stroll around and got some veggies to dye. We learned about their dying properties and had so much fun. / But then came the good part. Aubrey had some delicious snacks for us. So we chat a bit and then went straight to it. We did both the indigo and the natural flower/ veggie dying at parallel timing, all with times in between while the dying made it's thing. / So we got to hang out, chat and get to know each other. The group was amazing and we ended laughing all afternoon. / / The results where amazing! Really unexpected, and Aubrey's help was the most important part. It made the entire experience unreal. We learned tons and will definetly do it again! / / I higly recommend this experience to anyone who likes getting crafty or anyone at all! Definetly going to my do-it-again list!! / / /

I partnered with Airbnb to take this experience for a test run, and I had a great time! I am local to LA, but this would be a great way for visitors to experience LA life beyond the usual tourist destinations. Unfortunately we got rained out of the rooftop dinner, but Aubrey took us to a wonderful restaurant nearby and we had a great time chatting with her and the other girls who were there for the weekend too. The hike was beautiful and not too strenuous, and Aubrey directed us as to what kind of plants to collect that would work well for the dying project the next day. The dying workshop on Sunday was a lot of fun, and Aubrey is a great teacher. Even if you're a beginner at DIY projects, you'll come out of the workshop with some beautiful fabric that you dyed yourself and can use to make pillows, clothing, or anything else you can think of. Thank you so much to Aubrey for being such a great host for this AirBnB experience, and I definitely recommend booking this if you're looking for a fun weekend in LA!

Could not have been more impressed with my first experience with Air bnb! Aubrey was the most warm, welcoming, and knowledgable host. We started the first night with a welcome dinner at this amazing local restaurant (since it was raining, the originally planned rooftop dinner wasn't a possibility). We all bonded over wine, homemade pasta, and mutual love of arts & crafts. I left feeling full and happy and excited for the foraging hike the next day. Hiking through Bronson Canyon was absolutely gorgeous, and I was impressed not only by Aubrey's knowledge of the local plants that could be used for bundle dying, but also her stories on the history of the canyon. As amazing as the first two days were, the last day of the experience was definitely my favorite. We met at the Larchmont sunday farmer's market for some more dying goods, coffee, and delicious pastries, before heading back to Aubrey's to get started dying. What happened next was magical... thanks to Aubrey's help and expertise, I have a newfound forever love of indigo and bundle dying. I left the weekend with gorgeous dyed fabrics and the knowledge to now dye my own things at home! Not only do I feel like I learned a lot and had an amazing weekend, I feel like I made a new lifelong friend in Aubrey :-) nothing but positive memories and vibes!
