I live in Osaka, and I have worked at a business hotel in Osaka for 10 years. I learned English conversation and communication skills. I also have been working at a rental kimono shop for 5 years.
I love Japanese cultures, especially kimono. I learned kimono, not only how to wear them but their materials, colors, patterns.. and so on. I wear kimono almost everyday. I love kimonos as everyday clothes. I also love making tsumami-zaiku. I have been making Tsumami accessories from I was a teenager. I can give you the special experience! I want share and enjoy the experience with many guests!

We booked this kimono experience for a private group of four and this experience was amazing and so much fun! We got to make beautiful personal hair pieces with much help and choice of traditional kimono. We took many pictures and walked around for an hour. The two assistants were so wonderful. Very much recommend this experience!

The workshop was a quick and easy activity that was pretty engaging, and the hosts were really patient and friendly with us. After the hair accessory workshop, we got to choose our kimonos and walk around Shin-Osaka. :) It was a wholesome experience overall!

Mayumi-san and her assistant are wonderful hosts that guided us patiently through the process of creating the brooch and helped us through the complicated process of putting on a kimono. We were late due to some other issues and they were patient and did not cut anything short. They were also very nice people and we were delighted at their hospitality. Coupled with the inexpensive cost, I’d say this is a must-try.

It was a superb experience!!! Mayumi was warm and welcoming. Passionate about her craft and was very patient with me learning tsumami kanzashi. She took on board my preferences with colour scheme in kimono yet put her personal touch making the experience feel very unique and special. She took her time matching everything for me, did a beautiful hairstyle and taught me how to pose traditionally in a kimono. What an experience!!! I would do it all over again and won’t hesitate to visit Mayumi when I return to Osaka. 💖💙
