What you'll do

NOTES:
1. Please message me if your group would like another tour time/date
2. See my Snowshoeing Tour on Airbnb Experiences

Onsens are a great way to relax, calm the mind, boost metabolism, help skin conditions, reduce lactic acid in muscles, & enhance sleep.

I'll explain area history & onsen etiquette. Tattoos are okay! The onsens we go to are public and all have both an indoor & outdoor onsen option. Meet up for a post-onsen beverage (usually a bottle of water is included to hydrate yourself) on a tatami mat rest area. Lockers available to secure valuables (100 yen) or you can leave things locked in my van.

Example itinerary:
00:00 Meet in Hirafu & drive to onsen (discuss onsen etiquette, area history, restaurant recommendations)
00:30 Arrive onsen, hand out towels, enjoy onsen for 1 hour
01:30 Meet at tatami room to re-hydrate
01:40 Depart for Hirafu
~02:00 Arrive Hirafu

Hi, I'm Rob. I've been an AirBnB Superhost for 5 years and know all the best onsens in the Niseko area! There's nothing like soaking your tired bones in a steaming hot bath outdoors after a big day skiing/snowboarding/snowshoeing! It truly is the ultimate Japanese experience and you shouldn't leave Hokkaido without trying it! It's even more of a treat when it's snowing outside which happens almost daily in the winter here. Please message me if your group would like to go at another time/date and I can create an AirBnB Experience.

Where you'll be

We'll visit an onsen outside of the Niseko ski resort where fewer tourists venture. Some onsens close on a specific day of the week so I will adjust accordingly.

Rob was awesome. He provided our group an awesome experience. He went above a beyond. I highly recommend the onsen tour. Rob does a great job of providing background and historical meaning to the different places we saw. I would definitely do this again.

Super expérience dans un onsen en dehors des sentiers battus. En bonus des anecdotes, des bonnes adresses et des infos éclairantes sur la région partagées avec passion par Rob, installé à Niseko depuis 8 ans. On recommande !

We really enjoyed the onsen experience. Going off the beaten path and learning about the ritual and custom in a magical, authentic setting was so special. Rob was a great guide and provided us with a lot of context and information that helped enrich our experience.

I've got to say that this is one the best experiences I will never forget. Taking a bath in an outdoor onsen in the middle of snowy mountains with the snow falling was just so serene and so magical. It was what we really needed after a long day of playing with the snow.

This is a great way to have a more authentic onsen experience outside the main tourist area. It’s especially great if you like me travel solo without access to car! Rob is a great host and don’t forget to ask him for restaurant recommendations as he does know some fantastic places :)
