We had a wonderful time making notebooks with Masaki and Tomo! They explained the process clearly and supported us every step of the way. We loved being able to choose our paper from a beautiful selection of high-quality designs and colors. We also enjoyed creating the cover of the book, with a combination of stamped lettering and Japanese characters. While we waited for the glue to dry, Masaki showed us around the factory and we learned a bit about the business. (We were delighted to learn that Ito Bindery products are sold in a city near us!) It was such a pleasure to chat with Masaki and Tomo; they obviously enjoy meeting people and sharing their craft. At the end of the afternoon, we left the bindery with unique and special mementos of our afternoon as well as fond memories of the time we spent with our hosts. Highly recommend this experience!

I enjoyed my first bookbinding experience, made even more special by Masaki and Tomo who were incredibly kind and welcoming. We now have something special to take home, a wonderful reminder of our time in Japan. I also loved that we were given the opportunity to customize our books to our own tastes, making each one feel personal and special.

I run a family-owned boo bindery in Tokyo that has been passed down through three generations. Though much of the industry has turned to mass production, we continue to use vintage machinery and rely on skilled hands to finish each product. Every step is done with great care that reflects the heart of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
