Went into this experience thinking beavers were cute lil guys (undeniably still true), and left with a renewed sense of hope that industrialization hasn’t completely disrupted the local wildlife. True to the name of urban beaver tracking, Pamela showed us areas along Longfellow creek where beavers have made their bank dens, built dams, and raised their families, all underneath the bustling city of West Seattle. Such adaptive and resilient creatures 💛
Pamela is a charming, knowledgeable , and enthusiastic guide. She pointed out several areas that had evidence of beaver engineering, and plenty of bark with beaver nibbles. Looking forward to my next hike where I can try to do some beaver detecting of my own!
