What you'll do
Get acquainted with Hungarian wine (paired with some fabulous local cheese and charcuterie)! This afternoon sommelier-led tasting experience features 5 fine Hungarian wines paired with some of the country’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie. The annotated tasting experience will introduce you to the increasingly wonderful world of Hungarian wine, and the delicious local food products.
We love focusing on indigenous Hungarian grape varietals and unique local styles, so you may taste wines which you’ve never heard of (and may not easily find elsewhere). Our cheese and charcuterie board is a perfect complement to the wine, and we are proud to source our cheese and charcuterie directly from the producers. You’ll taste things such as mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, grey beef sausage, and various styles of cheese.
The tasting will give you an overview of Hungarian wine—the history, the major regions, the important varietals, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends. The final wine will be a glass of Tokaj aszú wine, one of the world’s greatest sweet wines. Join us to for a fun (and tasty) education in wine and cheese!
Other things to note
The tasting will begin promptly, so please be sure to arrive a few minutes early. If you will be late please call us at +36-30-720-8197!

We are Tamás, Christian, Sebastian, and Lilla, a group of sommeliers at The Tasting Table Budapest! We are passionate about Hungarian wine, and about spreading our love of this wine to wine-lovers who are new to it. We organize fun and educational wine tastings every day at The Tasting Table. We love introducing others to the unique Hungarian wines, mostly produced in small quantities, which we have discovered. We are also an independent wine shop, and we stock more than 200 types of Hungarian wine, including the largest selection of Tokaji aszú in Budapest!

My girlfriend and i had a fantastic time, the setting is so cosy, welcoming and small enough that you feel more involved. The details given to us about the history of Hungarian Wine was insightful and provided to us in a fun and humorous manner.
The wine and cheese it's self was beautiful and more than enough for an afternoon livener.
Would definitely advise anyone to book this for a little experience in Budapest, wasn't long enough that you could get bored and not short enough that you felt shortchanged.

Fantastic afternoon with quality cheeses, meats and artisan breads. Good selection of different wines. Seb was very passionate and knowledgeable. We used what we learned to select wines in other bars and restaurants during our break. Just a shame some other rude guests thought it acceptable to chat about their drab lives during Sebs talk. Didn't impact on our enjoyment but if you go, do pay attention, you will learn a lot.

This was so great. They served only Hungarian wine from small wineries, and the meats and cheeses were also local. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable, kept our interest, and has a clever sense of humor. We Americans really appreciated that it was in English. We also loved meeting new friends from other countries!
