What you'll do

A very complete tour through the whole Natural Park of Sintra Cascais, a friendly and relaxed way of having the best of Sintra and Cascais in one day!
The day starts in the historic center of Sintra, the perfect spot for a morning coffee and to taste the famous local pastry, we'll explore the old streets and see the National Palace of Sintra. Then we'll continue exploring this amazing UNESCO world heritage area, we'll be driving around enjoying the unique sightseeing of Sintra on the way to Quinta da Regaleira where we'll discover the wonders of its amazing and mysterious gardens* from where we can also see the Moorish Castle and the colourful details of the Pena Palace.
The journey will continue to the scenic coastline of Sintra and its picturesque villages, where we'll have a typical meal by the beach**, and to Cabo da Roca the westernmost point of continental Europe, where we'll enjoy the amazing view over the Atlantic Ocean.
We will then drive to Cascais through the uncrowded roads of the natural park, enjoying the ocean views and experiencing the forest. In Cascais we'll explore this beautiful old fishing port and learn about how it became a symbol of the quality of life in Portugal.

Sintra and Cascais is what I call home, growing up in this region made me a passionate person for the natural and cultural environment that the region provides.
I believe Portugal was made to be in the outdoors, so I decided to take advantage of it to make a living and become a tour guide. Showing around and telling my country's history is what I love to do, in a relaxed, friendly and informative way, as if guests had a local friend that provides a full cultural, historical, natural and gastronomic experience.

Our trip with Tomas was absolutely wonderful! He was very friendly and gave us interesting information about each destination and Portuguese culture. I really liked that we had time to discover the places on our own and everything went so smoothly! Super easy to just sit in the car and get out in interesting sightseeing spots and other places. The lunch place had beautiful views over the sea and the food was very good. We usually don't book organised trips but I am so glad we did this time as we were lucky to be just me and my mum! It would have been such a hassle or even impossible to go by ourselves. I highly recommend Tomas to everyone willing to discover Sintra, the palaces and Cascais in one day.

I had a great trip to Sintra with Tomas. He picked me up near my flat in Lisbon exactly in time and was very punctual throughout the day. He is also a very calm and safe driver and has a comfortable car. The whole trip was a great experience. Tomas dropped us off at the various sights and then picked us up later. It was super convenient to not have to organize transport and rent a car. Also, he is very friendly and we had a great time talking about the sights, life in Portugal and other things. One of the highlights of the day was a great late lunch in a beautifully located restaurant, directly on the beach, that Thomas selected for us. The meal I had there was the best meal of my whole one week time in Portugal and the view from our table directly on the ocean could not have been any better. Absolutly outstanding! I am very glad I booked this experience and would recommend it to anyone.

The tour consists of car pick-up from the hotel and own train experience from Caicais, which is really a good try in a day tour. If time allows after the Lisbon tour, it is highly recommended to opt to Sintra and Caicais. The historic buildings in Sintra are spectacular! The later part of the tour which is to wind down at a local seafood restaurant by the beach of Caicais is really an enjoyable experience!

Thank God for Tomás!! Hah! My boyfriend and I initially booked another Sintra experience on airbnb which got cancelled and we managed to book Tomás last minute! He came to pick us up near our Airbnb apartment, took us to Sintra in his van and explained what we were going to see. He first took us to the Sintra village, we then went to see Quinta da Regaleira, we stopped on the way to admire some palaces, we had lunch by the ocean, went to see Cabo da Roca and finally the Pena Palace. We managed to see a bunch of things that we wouldn't have been able to see had we not booked Tomás! Thank you so much Tomás for your patience and for the lovely experience!!

Tomas was a fantastic tour guide! He has a wealth of knowledge about his home, and was able to share so much while also giving us time to explore on our own. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, I highly recommend!!
