What you'll do
Plan to spend four hours on an adventure of our very own, going exactly where we want to go and when, exploring the island and snorkeling the healthiest reef in the region! Weather and sea surface conditions will determine which shore we explore - north or south.
When we get in the water, we'll see beautiful coral, parrot fish, wrasse, trumpet fish, Spanish hog fish and more. On Bermuda's south shore we may have the opportunity to explore one of the islands popular shipwrecks, the Pollockshields, or navigate around and over the boiler reefs at Church Bay.
Should the north be better, we will explore the caves at Admiralty Park and weave through purple sea fans and if we look carefully may find a seahorse.
During our eco-adventure, we can also collect marine debris that we find in onion sacks. There's also the option to cull any invasive lionfish we may encounter and you get to keep the fillet! Should both of our shores be no good for snorkeling, we will head east to the Walsingham Nature Reserve for an equally unforgettable experience. Again, each experience is custom and curated just for you.

My name is Weldon Wade and I am a proud Bermudian with a passion for the ocean and diving. One of my earliest memories is of my father tossing me into the water at Horseshoe Bay beach. Good news is that I survived! :-) Fast forward a while and now I am the first and only Bermudian certified SCUBA diver, rebreather and freediver. Diving has taken me all over the world. In 2011 I founded an organization to help connect divers and have lead numerous ocean conservation initiatives and projects to remove plastic pollution and invasive Atlantic lionfish from the sea. Join me! Let's go diving!

Where you'll be
We will make the decision together exactly when and where to meet. Most of that decision depends on where you are on the island and what the weather conditions are like. When it comes to getting in the water -safety first! Even with little to no wind we must also be mindful of swell and surge.

Weldon was absolutely terrific! I am an experienced snorkeler and he really tailored the afternoon to what I was looking for and was super flexible, which I appreciated. We did a behind the scenes tour at the aquarium, which was great to put things in context and visited several locations. The water conditions were not really in our favor that day but he more than made up for it with an island tour, lots of information and his wonderful company. I look forward to returning to Bermuda again and snorkeling with Weldon. He is wonderful! Highly recommended.

Weldon is highly experienced and is truly an expert diver and ecologist. He is also absolutely wonderful to be around. He took me and my son to the aquarium to frame our snorkeling trip and to help us learn about the fish we were about to see in the wild. We then went to nature reserve to snorkel and saw a host of beautiful sea life.
I can get quite nervous in the open ocean with my son, and Weldon made sure we felt secure and were 100% safe.
He is personable, funny and super informed. Weldon travels throughout the world helping other communities preserve sea life and protect the environment. It is very special that he is even available to host an experience!
Truly wonderful! Can't wait to come back to Bermuda and do it again. Thank you, Weldon!

Last friday, we did a Eco-Tour & Snorkel with Ocean Hero organized by Weldon and we really had a wonderful time.
Weldon is very professional and he inspires confidence. Since we are beginners, he took the time to make us feeling comfortable and safe. We first try our equipment near by the shore and, then, we swam along the rocks - were we saw corals, seaweeds (as Common Sea Fan) and many colorful fishes (like schools of Blue Parrotfishes, Bluehead Wrasses, Sergeant Majors and one Honeycomb Cowfish).
Surely that when we will go back to Bermudas, we will contact that knowledgeable and energetic guy for a great snorkeling experience!
Thank you so much, Weldon!
