What you'll do

Guests will meet at the Rare Earth office at 6pm, and we will travel in an REA van to the trailhead in the Mt. Hood National Forest (about 1-1.5 hour drive). Once we arrive we will hike through the majestic pines until sunset (for approximately 2-3 miles depending on group pace). Once we reach a vantage point with views of Hood we will take a break and enjoy a variety of local craft beers during the "magic hour" as we watch the sun go down. Then we'll hike by moonlight and headlamp back to the trailhead and drive back to the office. Please note this trip runs in all types of weather, and views of Hood can be affected by cloud cover.
Other things to note
Please bring your state issued ID or Passport if you would like to drink alcoholic beverages. Bring an extra layer for when the sun goes down!

Henry was a great guide for this hike. We had an amazing time. My only issue was that I wish we had left about a half hour earlier as by the time we got to the lookout the sun was all but down. It would have been nice to see it set over the mountain like we expected.

Cody, our guide, was considerate and knowledgeable— the guy is a great conversationalist. The views were amazing! It’s jaw dropping at the natural splendor of it all: the green of the forest, the sound of life rustling through the trail, to the magnetic Mt Hood in the background of it all. Great stuff!

Rare Earth’s Suds and Sunset tour was super cool. Our guide, Henry, was very passionate about mountaineering and was excited to share his love of nature with us. The views of Mt. Hood were breathtaking and having a nice cold beer after the mild trek was quite refreshing. We shared a few mindful moments absorbing the raw natural beauty at the top of the trail. The night hike back through the forest was really unique. It made us feel very tranquil and connected to Pacha Mama. 10/10 would highly recommend.
