What you'll do

Please note this walk starts at 10:30AM and is about three hours long. Reinvigorate in nature and fresh air and see San Francisco's spectacular Golden Gate Coast! We'll meet at Warming Hut at Crissy Field then explore Civil War-era Fort Point. I'll provide tips for photographing the Golden Gate Bridge as we ditch the tourists and join the scenic Coastal Trail, exploring bluffs overlooking the Pacific and San Francisco Bay, learning locals-only insights on the way. We'll visit wild and scenic beaches and enjoy a refreshing alfresco BYO picnic by the ocean.

Please note: If the walk is not on the calendar for the date you want or fully booked, please contact me and we might be able to accommodate you. You can reach me via Airbnb direct message or by e-mail at sanfranciscocoastwalk@gmail.com.

This walk is also ideal for corporate team building outings!

I'm a SF native and the co-founder of a local nature walking company, Coastal Walkers. Living in the SF Bay area, the region is my canvas and the best way to connect with it is on foot. We'll explore through one of San Francisco's most iconic parks and the Golden Gate Bridge, the perfect location for learning about the natural and human history of San Francisco and the Bay.

This walk is perfect for team building and office offsites. For group discounts and any questions, reach me via Airbnb direct message or by e-mail at sanfranciscocoastwalk@gmail.com.

Where you'll be

We love this walk because of the historical spectrum it covers and the natural beauty of the area. We see Crissy Field, The Presidio, Fort Point the Golden Gate Bridge, the Coastal Trail, and a wild Marshall Beach. Afterwards, you have an on-your-own chance to walk the entire length of the bridge. Note: If the walk is not on the calendar for the date you want or fully booked, please contact me and we might be able to accommodate you.

George was a wonderful tour guide during my walking tour. He’s timely, knowledgeable, and brings his dad-joke type of humor which I appreciated. He is kind and easy to talk to. The walk has some inclines/steps, but it is not difficult for anyone in at least moderate amount of shape. The walk is beautiful and the views of the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge are even better. There weren’t many people or tourists where we walked which was lovely to get away from the throngs of tourists. I felt like I was in good hands and safe with George. It’s great being shown around by a local who genuinely enjoys doing these types of walks! Thanks for the positive experience!

My husband and I were in San Francisco for our 25th anniversary and wanted to do something different. We chose this hike because we'd never done a coastal tour, nor taken pics of us near the bridge. For our hike, we met Greg who is Ben's partner. It was just my husband and I, and one other lovely woman, along with Greg. Basically, it was a private tour. The day was quite warm and we were all a bit worried about the heat but, overall, it wasn't an issue and ended up being a beautiful day for walking and taking photos. Greg was very excited about the location along the coast and showed us many things that we had no knowledge about. His enthusiasm was infectious, and we enjoyed so much of what he had to offer in way of history, and the experiences he had growing up in and around this coastal region. We saw a number of WWII military bunkers that had guarded the bay, and had a picnic lunch at Marshall Beach, a little known beautiful beach that was away from the crowds. Getting this close to the Golden Gate Bridge was very exciting! If you want to get this close to the bridge and take some amazing photos this tour is for you! But, it's not all about the bridge. Greg's background and understanding of the location made for a remarkable afternoon.

Any of Ben's walks are a must as he shares the local spots and is extremely easy to talk to. When we come back to San Francisco we'll definitely be doing another one of his walks.

Although it was a foggy day...we really enjoyed the hike and learned about the history of the area. The fog eventually burned off and we were able to get some nice pictures

Greg gave us a wonderful tour of the slightly-off-the-beaten-paths surrounding the Golden Gate Bridge. The typical trails that are there for folks going it on their own miss some spectacular views. Greg knew which small adjustments to make that took this hike from good to great. Lunch on the nearly empty beach was the highlight, and worth the effort!

I had an amazing time walking around The Golden Gate Bridge with Ben and two others guests. The views were breathtaking and we were able to explore some of the less crowded paths near the water. I was able to get some amazing photos throughout the walk. Ben shared lots of information about general historical facts about SF, the bridge itself, and about his own childhood growing up close in CA. I highly recommend a tour with Ben!
