What you'll do

The tour begins with a beautiful trip on the ferry crossing the fjord, with enough time for both photos and a coffee. Then a half hour drive to the starting point for our hike. After a safety breefing and equipment check, we start our ascent to the Pulpit Rock! The hike up might take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the weather, the physical condition of the group and the conditions of the trails, which are covered by ice and snow this time of year. The hike back down is usually slightly quicker. Ice crampons will be provided for everyone if needed. As for all the trips I do, I will also bring first aid equipment and a satellite communicator. As we reach the Pulpit Rock (Norwegian: Preikestolen) you will have a spectacular and exhilerating view of the Lysefjord, 604 meters below. I have lost count of how many times I have been here now, but I still find the view absolutely breathtaking! When we arrive back to the starting point of the hike, we will enjoy a nice warm soup and freshly baked bread at the Preikestolen Lodge before heading back to Stavanger. If you don't have a car yourself, I am happy to give you a lift from whichever hotel/Airbnb you are staying at.
