What you'll do
It can be difficult to make children interested in historical tours, and Split is not exception. This is one of very few children-friendly tours. I will give you an insight to historic attractions in more simple and children-suitable way. As a father myself, I know stories and legends connected with Split. We will look for ancient hidden wall inscriptions and Egyptian sphinxes, pass through Roman gates, make a wish by rubbing a toe of Bishop Grgur's giant statue. Depending when tour takes place, we will attend re-enactment of Roman guard ceremony and Emperor Diocletian's salute, which takes place every day at 12. At the end, we will visit the oldest pastry shop in Split, tasting traditional homemade style treats. Tour starts by the scaled model of Split old town at Riva promenade, followed by visiting Diocletian's Palace's substructures, former imperial residence in the southern part of the Palace, and central square Peristyle with the Saint Domnio's Cathedral. After that we will tour the Golden and Silver gates of the Palace, and northern, medieval section of the Palace. We will also visit city's main square locally known as Piazza, picturesque squares and corners.
