What you'll do

It can be difficult to make children interested in historical tours, and Split is no exception. This is one of the very few children-friendly tours. I will give you an insight into historic attractions in a more simple and children-suitable way. As a father myself, I know stories and legends connected with Split. We will look for ancient hidden wall inscriptions and Egyptian sphinxes, pass through Roman gates, make a wish by rubbing a toe of Bishop Grgur's giant statue. In the end, we will visit the oldest pastry shop in Split, tasting traditional homemade style treats.
Tour starts with the scaled model of the Split old town at Riva promenade, followed by visiting Diocletian's Palace's substructures, former imperial residence in the southern part of the Palace, and central square Peristyle with the Saint Domnio's Cathedral. After that, we will tour the Golden and Silver gates of the Palace, and the northern, medieval section of the Palace.

Such a great way to introduce Split to our kids! We all saw the city in a better light and learned so much about this beautiful city! Ivica was very interesting and thoughtful - he worked with us on Christmas Eve, which was above and beyond! Absolutely must do - preferably at the start of your vacation to Split!!

Ivica was very friendly and well informed. My children aged 8 and 6 enjoyed the experience especially as they got a little surprise at the end.

This is one of the best guided tours of a City I have ever been on. It is worth every cent and then some. Ivica was wonderful with our son (8, and hyper on the day of the tour) and made sure he was entertained and engaged for the entire tour.

Ivica was wonderful with our children and made a history tour something with which they fully engaged. He threw in interesting details for the adults as well. This was our first evening in Split and we felt we had a great introduction that informed the rest of our time. don't hesitate to book this tour!

This tour was fantastic! Our kids (7 and 9) found the tour really interesting. Ivica was great at building a rapport with them and keeping them engaged. We found the tour really interesting as well and felt that we learnt and saw lots that we wouldn't have seen if we'd been on our own. Highly recommended!

Ivica was a wonderful guide to take my 10yo daughter and I around the palace. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that it made sense to her and to myself. He had her follow along on the map to keep engaged and had lots of fun things to tell her that grasped her attention. He had an answer for every question and was generally a really sweet and kind person, very engaging with both of us. The special sweet treat at the end really sealed the deal for her. This is THE walking tour you must do with your children. Thanks Ivivca!
