What you'll do
If you want to experience Hungarian Cuisine hands on, don't look further! We start at the hundred and twenty years old Great Market Hall on Fővám tér, where we shop together for lunch. You will be able to experience the vivid life in a Hungarian market, get to know the most popular ingredients, taste some authentic local food, and get to know what to look for if you want to make a 'Magyar' dish yourself. After we are done with shopping, we transport to our Suite Restaurant called Marble Kitchen, which is situated on the scenic top floor of an apartment building. Here we collectively create a four course menu from the things we shopped together. You can get to know how to prepare our most iconic dishes such as 'Chicken paprikash', 'Pork belly', or 'Poppy seed dumps'. We also make pairings for each dish from the best Hungarian wines, while explaining the origins and cultural background of our meals. This way you can really immerse yourself in the secrets of Hungarian Cuisine. When our bellies and minds are full, we conclude the Experience, but we won't let you go empty handed: you will receive the recipes of all the meals we prepared together, along with a small surprise!
Agnes Bodnar And Gergo Csikos
We are Marble Kitchen Team, a group of young locals who would love to share their insights and knowledge about Budapest. We are travellers who spent many years abroad, so we know what is expected by someone who visits a foreign city: something local, exciting, full of flavour and perception. Agnes, who was living in the UK for 6 years, and working in hospitality for even longer. She managed a pub in England which was awarded the Best Pub of 2016. Gergo, who spent his university years in Holland studying business, and is in love with everything food-related. Now he manages a suite restaurant.
We will collectively prepare a four course menu, which is of course included :). You will get some local snacks while we are…
Soft drinks and the Hungarian wine pairings for the meals are part of the package.
The transportation from the Great Market Hall to Marble Kitchen is covered.
Our kitchen is fully equipped to conduct our activities.

Where you'll be
During our activities, we visit the Great Market Hall of Budapest, which was built in 1897, and is the biggest and most beautiful indoor market in the city. It is always full of life, full of culture, and you can find some of the best produce there. The other location is our exclusive suite restaurant called Marble Kitchen. The space is located on the scenic top floor of an apartment building in Buda, and it is privately reserved for our guests.
