What you'll do

After getting together at Nezu subway station, we will first head to a renowned “wagashi” (Japanese sweets) shop to learn about the universe of wagashi. The shop has a long history, and since I personally know the owners, they will tell us some deep knowledge behind the tradition. We will pick up some of your favorite choices as souvenirs (which you will enjoy later in this tour) and start walking down the Yanaka cemetery, one of the most popular spots in Tokyo for cherry blossoms. Instead of going straight to the beautiful cherry blossoms, we will walk around the area a little, dropping by many spots we discovered during the film shooting. They include historical temples and remains of a wall from the Edo period. Once we get to the cemetery, we will thoroughly enjoy the beautiful scenery of the cherry blossoms, then head back to our restaurant, Kujo Tokyo, to wrap up our 1.5-hour tour with a nice little break. Let’s savor the taste of the wagashi from earlier along with our specially brewed organic Japanese tea.

I am the producer of a production company 6pucks. I make video products regardless of genre. I am also active in a wide range of fields including starting a project to improve domestic self-sufficiency because I am a licensed cook. I am involved as a co-producer in many directors' films. Last year, I made a movie that takes place in this town. Many people here helped us filming, so I wanted to pay back by creating a tour to walk around the town. I want people around the world to know more about this wonderful area.

With an increase in foreign tourists, it has become an internationally recognized area over the past few years. By experiencing the beauty of Sakura blossoms and wagashi altogether through a nice walk, you will be able to really feel the spring in Tokyo.
