Once this sweet adventure is over, we will tour our farm to enter the extraordinary nightlife where we can see some species of frogs and toads such as the Giant Toad, the big chicken eater frog, the small “Jewels of the Forest” like the Hourglass Frog and the most emblematic of Costa Rica, the Red-Eyed Frog. With luck during the tour, we can see some species of insects, mammals such as the sloth, raccoons and sometimes nocturnal birds.

I grew up with my family on an agricultural farm in Monteverde, where one of the main products was coffee. Years later, the Don Juan project (which bears my grandfather's name) begins to show visitors the process for making coffee and after a few years the chocolate tour, but for reasons of climate the development of trees Cocoa was not the best and that is why a small farm was acquired in the Arenal Area where the climate is optimal for the cultivation of cocoa. Rather than being a guide to Coffee and Chocolate, I am passionate about nature and photography, which is why I am proud to teach what I know about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica not only to tourists, but also to my colleagues Andrés Pérez, Axel Soto and Yeudy Cruz who are our co-hosts, who also do the chocolate and night walk tour.

Where you'll be
With one of our guides or co-hosts, we will walk a distance of no more than 500 meters through a small cocoa plantation where we would learn all the processes such as cultivation, production, fermentation, drying, roasting and packing. Once the Chocolate part is finished, we will walk along the paths of the farm in search of the different nocturnal creatures that live there.
