What you'll do
Pick up by 8 seater minivan is outside the G.P.O. (rebel HQ in 1916) on O'Connell street in the centre of Dublin, easily accessible from any direction. An introduction to the Easter uprsing of 1916, 'Green shoots of Revolution' is a fun, small group history city tour by 8 seat minivan around the historical sites and key battlegrounds of the 1916 Easter Rising, the Irish Revolution, that took place in central Dublin between the British empire and a small force of Irish, 'the volunteers', during the most important 6 days in modern Irish history beginning on Easter Monday April 24th 1916. Beginning with a brief overview of the Easter Rising with details of both forces and profiles of key characters. From there we spend on average 2 hours driving and exploring the key rebel outposts in central Dublin. We also enjoy a selection of Irish folk and rebel songs along our journey. Plenty of photos can be taken along the way and we can stretch the legs at the half way point on the site of the fierce battle of Mount street bridge.
