What you'll do
We will be deep diving into the culture and science and Chinese food. There are just four simple questions you'll need to answer before we get started. 1) On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being most), how comfortable are you in the kitchen? 2) On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the most), how familiar are you with Chinese food? 3) On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being most), how scientific would you like this experience to be? 4) Any allergies or dietary restrictions or preferences? During this experience, we will be cooking food together, mostly from scratch. I'll be explaining the culture and history behind each dish along with the science behind each task. Afterwards, we'll share the meal together and take the opportunity to answer any questions. This is truly a unique experience that helps to take something from the unknown to the known. I want my guests to feel welcome to into my home and comfortable with cooking Chinese food when the leave. My hope is that they truly enjoyed their experience and would recommend it to their friends and family as well.

My name is not Alexa but close enough! I'm Chinese American, born and raised in the Bay Area, California and have lived in New York City. I started learning how to cook from my mom at in my young teens and that has helped me develop my passion for Chinese food. I have a degree in Food Science, have worked for major companies such as Kraft, Pinnacle Foods, and Amazon. I've worked in product development, food quality and safety for the past 5+ years. I've also served as trainer and mentor to various folks and was a barista so I can communicate cross culturally with ease.
