What you'll do
From Maiori, a seaside village, we will climb through the lemon-pergolas to Minori, the next village. These ancient staircases offer a panoramic view on Salerno's gulf, and were the only ground connection in alternative to navigation. Afer visiting the church of Santa Maria a Mare that overhangs Maiori, we'll have a one hour walking as far as Minori, and, before arriving, well' have a nice and refreshing stop in a lemon-grove, where to discover the secrets of growing lemons and taste the "limonata", the lemon juice made out of these flavoured lemons. In Minori it is possible to visit an ancient roman villa from the 1st century A.D (free admission) or going on with the tipical flavour of the amalfitan coast eating the "lemon delight" or the "amalfitan cabochon" in the pastry shop of the renownd pastry cook Sal de Riso. From Minori it is possible to return to Maiori, either on foot by the national road in 20 minutes, or by public bus SITA. The hike itself without the stop is lasting one hour and it is not difficult, although you have about 400 steps to climb and go down, so a good physical form is required !
