What you'll do
Meet with me in the entrance hall of the very grand Helsingør (Elsinore in English) railway station. Once assembled, we'll take a 4km walk around the cobbled streets of the city of olde Helsingør. A city steeped in hidden historical gems from the Middle Ages until the 19th century, a time in which it was a bustling commercial port due to a startlingly good idea - 400-years of "legal piracy". With vivid, funny and intriguing stories I'll lead you to grand and humble buildings, and through hidden courtyards for a little time travelling into the past. The tour will then head towards the magnificent fortress of Kronborg. We will pass the site of the old shipyards, now rejuvenated into a wonderful library, cultural center, and maritime museum. We'll take in the view from the top of the building, then head towards the battlements of the vast fortress and royal palace of Kronborg, the setting for Shakespeare's play, Hamlet. We'll finish by taking in the magnificent views across the sound to Sweden, then I'll lead you back into Helsingør and point out some good eateries. There's also the possibility then then purchase a ticket to visit inside Kronborg fortress.

Where you'll be
Through the bustling maze of streets in Helsingør city. Taking in the grand mansions of foreign merchants and diplomats, once bawdy taverns, ancient marketplaces, timeless alleyways, and hidden courtyards. A 1950s ice-cream parlour, a peek inside a 17th-century house/museum, and to stroll around the peaceful cloisters of a monastery. Then, the ultra modern library, and a windswept walk around the shore below Kronborg fortress.
