What you'll do

I've designed this tour not only for first-time visitors to Cincinnati, but also for people who haven't ventured downtown for a while. You'll be amazed at all that is happening! We'll start our tour at historic Findlay Market where you'll get a feel for our public market. Next we'll ride the streetcar through the Central Business District to The Banks to explore the area around Great American Ball Park. You'll see how we remember Pete Rose and other legendary Reds players, and you'll understand the connection between baseball and our community. We'll have plenty of photo opportunities right around the stadium, at Smale Riverfront Park, and along the Ohio River. Next we'll ride the streetcar back to the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Here, you'll want to grab some pictures of gorgeous Music Hall and Washington Park before we head to Taft's Ale House to see a gorgeous 19th century church restored as a 3-story brewpub. We'll enjoy a snack, but plenty of other food and locally brewed beer are also available for purchase. Throughout the tour, I'll be happy to share insider tips about where to eat and what to do while you're in the Cincinnati area.
Note: Findlay Market is not open on Mondays. I will contact you regarding a nearby meeting place.

After teaching school, managing our family construction business, and raising a family, I stumbled into the community surrounding historic Findlay Market. The small business owners there inspired me to start my own company, and Cincinnati Food Tours launched in 2012. Since then, I have grown my business beyond food to include cultural tours. I definitely enjoy the food, the history, the sports, and the arts in Cincinnati, but I really love the people. I am a Certified Tourism Ambassador, the 2020 recipient of the Erich Kunzel Queen City Advocate award, a Bona Fide entrepreneur, and an Unofficial Cheerleader for all things Cincinnati. Let me share my passion.

Where you'll be

1. Findlay Market is the oldest public market in Ohio. It is Cincinnati's foodie heaven!

2. Cincinnati history was built on the banks of the Ohio River by early pioneers. But German immigrants settled in Over-the-Rhine.

3. In the last 20 years, Cincinnati has experienced an urban renaissance like no other. Seeing is believing.

4. Wonderful photo opportunities at Smale Riverfront Park, Washington Park, Music Hall, and Fountain Square.

Barb was excellent. Turned out, I was the only person who signed up for her Welcome to Cincinnati Tour. It was great, I got what felt like, personal attention from Barb. We shared stories of our travels. This being my First visit to Cincinnati, it sure makes for a very fond memory. Thank You Barb!

My girlfriend and I showed up for our tour and were lucky to discover that we were the only ones scheduled... we had our own private guide! After a quick chat with Barb, we decided to forgo the Reds portion of the tour and concentrate specifically on the OTR and surrounding area. It turned out to be a great choice. Barb is extremely knowledgeable about the area, and not only gave us perspective on what's happening in the neighborhood now, but she was also knowledgeable enough to provide some historical perspective as well. She provided the skinny on all of the best restaurants and cocktail joints in the area, showed us some developing neighborhoods like Pendleton, and wowed us with some of the amazing architecture and murals in the neighborhood. It was worth the price of admission for that knowledge alone, as a new citizen of the city. We highly recommend Barb's tour, you won't regret it!

Excellent, unique, and informative tour. Barb is really knowledgeable and will personalize and elaborate based on your preferences or interests. We learned so much and we were extremely at ease around Barb and felt welcomed to ask any question we wanted. She also provided a lot of information about the city and its history. She also recommended some great restaurants. I would recommend any of her tours but especially this one for any baseball enthusiast.
