What you'll do
We will meet at the bus stop or car parking, depending on how you arrive and start walking through the Skarpnäs nature reserve. On our hike we will pass by some Beautiful forest lakes, old meadows that are being kept open, through our typical pine forest and finally end up at Telefgrafberget, which is a beautiful 70 metres high Cliff overlooking the seaside and port of Stockholm as well as the main shipping route. As one of the highest points in the area you have a wonderful view from there and will gain some better understanding of our topography, nature and area. Most of the taller buildings in Stockholm can be spotted as well as some shipping. Here I will invite you to a Swedish "fika" with coffee and cinnamon buns. After the break I will show you some abandoned structures that date back to the late 19th century when a businessman from Stockholm started construction of a spa by the sea and introduce you to the optical telegraph line that had a station on top of the hill already in 1795. Finally we will return to our starting point and see some more lovely lakes and nature on the way. During the hike I will introduce you to various aspects of Sweden in general!
Other things to note
For the most part there are well kept hiking trails that are easy to walk, although for getting to the top of the cliff and some further exploring some easy climbing will be necessary.

I love my hometown! Since our area is a lovely place with lots of nature around, located in the heart of the Stockholm archipelago and still close enough to Stockholm city centre to reach within half an hour, I have never moved away. During all the years I have explored my homelands a lot and so I want to share some of the hidden gems with you. For many years I have been guiding groups of foreign friends through the area, both on land and on water as a yachtskipper. To me one of the best things in life is to share my experience, passion and places I love with people from all over the World!

Where you'll be
Skarpnäs nature reserve is a lovely gem of nature not far from Stockholm. Here you can hike through the pine forests that are so typical in the archipelago area. Most of the topography is made up of granite rocks and cliffs, scattered lakes and a few structures that remind of human development in the past. Perhaps the very best are the Beautiful views of Stockholms seaside and the shipping route that you will see from top of the highest Cliff.

Thomas is a lovely guide who really conveys his passion for the surroundings as he takes you through the beautiful landscapes. You are made to feel very warm and welcome which I think is topped off by homemade buns and biscuits for the fika midway through the hike. I recommend this for a day out especially if the weather is nice

Thomas knows every great spot in the area. After only 30 Minutes I learnt so much about the geography and the swedish culture. It was a lot of fun exploring the nature and talking to Thomas. We had very interesting conversations during hiking. The highlight of the experience was the coffee pause with FIKA at the top of the rocks while enjoying the great view of stockholm. I highly recommend this experience in the nature to every stockholm visitor!
