What you'll do
Departure from Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza at our Info Point Ashàra.
After a short briefing, the excursion will begin that will lead us to the top at an altitude of 3330m.
With the Etna cable car we will quickly gain altitude up to 2500 meters above sea level and then with special 4x4 minibuses, we will climb further up to 2900 meters above sea level, near Torre del Filosofo.
During the 2-hour ascent we will make 2-3 intermediate breaks to enjoy the view and we will travel through the lava fields with a lunar aspect that will lead us right to the summit of Etna: the highest active volcano in Europe where we can admire the peculiarities that characterize the summit area.
We will go down through some amusing sandbanks and we will visit the craters of 2002-2003 and equipped with a helmet, also a lava flow channel.
We will take the cable car downhill again to return to the starting point
Other things to note
Ticket for cable car and Unimog 4x4 are not included in the price and you'll pay it directly in cash at our meeting point

The experience was amazing. Massimo is really passionate about his profession and along the way up and down gets to tell us stories and leyends related to Etna and Sicily, some basic geology for the ones that we had no idea about and many hiking tips!. I learned things, met nice people and had an amazing experience. I can only recommend it.
