What you'll do

Looking for a local, tasty, fun, and personable experience in Vienna? You've found it!

It would be rude of us not to offer you a coffee before getting started properly. So, we will stop for a quick coffee and a tasty treat. Instead of one of the famous Viennese coffee houses, where mainly tourists wait in line, we will head to one of the few cafes that locals visit in the 1st District, a quirky and well-functioning “Kulturcafe”. Then, we browse one of Europe’s most famous markets – “Naschmarkt” - before heading to one of our off-the-beaten-track outer-district markets. There, you learn the locals’ secret to “Gemütlichkeit” and why Vienna is placed so high in the “most livable city” rankings. Then, we discover where the locals go for the best coffee in the city, graze on a number of sweet and savory delights, hand-picked by your guide from street stalls, markets, and trendy cafes we pass along the way.
Other things to note
The tour will take about 5 hours. We provide a very authentic tour that is personable, entertaining, and full of interesting stories about Vienna together with great food, pastries, and coffee stops.

We design tours to give you an insider look into Vienna’s culture, off the beaten track. We started this Air BnB experience to give travelers a chance to walk the streets with a local. We love our city, its wide range of food and people and, especially, what we do!
Wolfgang: successfully worked in the restaurant/hotel business as an owner/manager. Patrick: worked in various fields from selling vinegar at a market to IT support. Lena: has been working in restaurants her whole life and is a perfect fit for our culinary and sporty tours. Verena: After years as a hospitality expert in Europe and the U.S., Verena is finally back in “her” city and sharing it with friends! Vera, Natalia, and Daniel: are our amazingly talented classical singers, who will wow you with their talents and their knowledge of music!

Where you'll be

First, we go to a 1st District “Kulturcafe” where we will taste the famous “Kaiserschmarrn” and apple strudel or “Apfelstrudel” in a very authentic café where locals and artists hang out. Then, we will go to the outer Districts, where you will find the most typical of the famous Viennese cuisine. This includes a very busy farmer’s market, a typical Viennese “Würstelstand”, as well as Turkish bakery

Wolfy was a great tour guide! I have some pretty annoying dietary restrictions and he was able to work around them. I feel like I really got to know Vienna and see how beautiful and lovely the city is!

I had a wonderful experience with Wolfgang as my guide around his beautiful city. To start the tour he took me to was a cozy traditional cafe where I had a nice cup of coffee, toast with butter and chives, and apple strudel. We then took short subway ride out to one of the outer districts to a small charming restaurant which served traditional Viennese cooking with some very nice Austrian wine. After that wonderful meal we walked around the neighbourhood to one of his favourite bakeries where I had a nice light doughnut filled with apricot jelly. We then proceeded to walk through more farmers markets which showed a bounty of produce. I found the outer districts vibrant and full of charm. The next culinary stop was a stall where the owner served hearty meat dishes such as sausages, pork belly, and a very nice and creamy goulash. I even got to eat horse which was actually very nice. The last stop was at another nice small charming coffee bar where I had an espresso. Wolfgang is a warm, knowledgeable, and a gifted storyteller. I highly recommend his tour to anyone who is interested in seeing other less visited parts of Vienna and mingle with the locals.

We enjoyed the trip and Wolfgang was a great host. There was lots of great food and were able to pick up extra stuff when we wanted. We highly recommend the tour to get to know food in Vienna from coffee and restaurants to street food and markets!

This was a fun day touring unique areas in Vienna, leaning about the city, history and cuisine as well as tasting delicious food I would normally not know to order. The host was very knowledgeable about fun. Great tour. I would highly recommend!

This tour was amazing! I highly recommend it, especially for early in a visit, since Wolfi showed us several places we will go back to. The fancy restaurant setting was great, but the street food and out-of-the-way food was superb, including several things I never would have found. I especially enjoyed talking to the chef and venue hosts. Walking thru the markets to talk to the vendors was really fun. I don't think as a tourist I would ever have found these aspects of life and food in Vienna.

Hey there. We were on a weekend vacation in Vienna with my boyfriend and decided to book Your tour. We had a great time discovering Vienna with Patrick, who was super friendly and a nice guy. We got to try a lot of different traditional dishes in special not-so-touristy places, which we wouldn't had discovered without the help of a local co-adventurer Patrick. It's definetly worth the price. Strongly recommended!!!
