What you'll do

If you are looking for an out of the binaries experience to do something new and special, you are in the right place! ❤️

I will be happy to make you experience the day-life of an artisan, bringing you inside a pottery factory and then discovering the feel of clay manipulating.

We first will meet in my shop in Montelupo Fiorentino, opened for 20 years in a historical village known all over the world for its ceramic production. Montelupo is situated precisely in the middle of Pisa and Florence so it is easily reachable by train or by car in about a half-hour from both sides. It is a beautiful village and I hope you will love it as I do!

From the shop we will go together to the factory where I will show you the cycle of production of Italian handmade pottery, telling you the history behind and explaining all the techniques.

If you want, there is also the possibility to design and purchase something new that will be custom made for you by our artisans!

After the factory, it will be your turn! We will go back to the shop where my father will be happy to teach you how to make your pottery piece.

Don't worry if you never used a wheel, the course is funny and satisfying for everyone!
And as icing on the cake your creation will be fired and shipped to your house, to have a tangible memory of the experience but above all to have a piece of Tuscany at home!
Other things to note
If you have any doubt feel free to contact me, I will reply as soon as possible!

Hi, my name is Matteo, and first of all thank you for reading these words!

Since I was a child I saw my father and grandfather producing handmade ceramics, and in time I have inherited the same passion in this very ancient job.

For this reason, six years ago I decided to share this passion with everyone and to make and spread our products all over the world joining the family business.

I love to show what we make and now, with this new Airbnb experience, I would like to share with you all my knowledge and my passion for pottery, and then make something unique together!

Where you'll be

Our shop is like our house, it will be a pleasure to let you live with us some special moments there.

The factory is where the magic happens, and you will see how many hands handle one single piece from raw clay to a decorated majolica.

But now I won't say more, it's a full-immersive experience that you have to feel with your eyes, your hands and your heart.

Amazing experience! Matteo and his family opened up a new world to us and shared their knowledge in this one of a kind experience. My son and I really enjoyed seeing how these one of a kind ceramics are produced. Then having a hands on experience to create our own treasure was truly unforgettable! Luckily we live in Italy so we look forward to coming back and getting our hands messy again:) Lovely little town to visit too! Definitely recommend.

The experience, the host and his family were wonderful! I really loved my experience and knew I was going to have an amazing time the moment I met with Matteo as he had such a positive and cheerful personality. Going to their facility was amazing and learning the Tuscan technique of pottery with the father of Matteo was very unique and fun. I enjoyed my experience so much and grateful for the welcome I was greeted with. =)
