About your host

As a freelance writer I cover Louisville's food and bourbon scene, and write for national magazines and websites about travel, food & drink, home & design, and other cool things. I'm a Certified Bourbon Steward, a Kentucky Colonel, and one of Airbnb's longest-tenured superhosts. I also run the writer's flat Vertigo Louisville in our 1887 Victorian home in Old Louisville and love sharing my insider…

What we’ll do

*Please note this tour is on request for private bookings only* We start with one of Louisville's best kept secrets, the zesty Ollieburger. Here at Ollie's Trolley you'll learn the secret history of the tiny diner that could've been the next KFC but is now one of only three Ollies left in the country. You'll see why crowds from all walks of life line up for their greasy bags of goodness…

Where you'll be

Historic Old Louisville is an enigma. Victorian mansions are interspersed with gritty corners and people love it – or avoid it. Without investment from big national brands, local old school places have thrived, and we'll visit three such gems. Ollie's Trolley is a cult favorite, carry-out diner; Dizzy Whizz is a greasy spoon open since 1947; and Buck's is a faded movie star version of a fine dining restaurant (we're just there for the bar).
