What you'll do

If I had to say there's one hidden sanctuary away from everything else, an as-yet undiscovered paradise, this is IT! The day begins at a small-unassuming trailhead, tucked back up Eldorado Canyon, with a large gravel ascending path as a total ruse for what lie ahead. Over the course of the next 3-4 hours we'll explore Eldorado Canyon with its' steep rock walls, towering mountains, and deep valley below. The views This hike is an absolutely perfect choice for a couple, family, or group looking for a half-day adventure of jaw dropping views, a fun but very doable hike, and a full feast as part of your adventure. History buffs will enjoy the site of the old Crags Hotel, built at the turn of the century and accessible only by railroad or wagon. It burned down shortly after it was built, but the stone fireplace and foundation remain. A short ten min further we'll enjoy unobstructed views of the Continental Divide. The whole experience is rated as moderate. If you're arriving from sea level you can expect to feel it but rest assured, we'll go whatever pace you set and are comfortable with. *Optional .8 mile very strenuous loop add-on is available seasonally. Inquire ahead.

Robin

I grew up in the heart of Alaska with a river for a playground and a boat for transportation. I'm still happiest and most at peace in the mountains, climbing up the edge of a boulder or basking in sunshine along the edge of a river. To say I'm an outdoor fanatic would be an understatement. I know every trail around, inside and out, and revel in the spectacular beauty of this state. In addition to my knowledge and capability in the mountains, I'm a professional chef, offering private and semi-private cooking classes. Your excursion will include a full custom-prepared feast.

What's included

Food
A full spread! Curried chicken salad w/ tart apple & roast pecans over farm-fresh arugula, homemade baked goods and granola..
