About your host
As born-and-bred Capetonians and professional storytellers, Brandon and I love sharing what we know about food and culture in the Mother City. In our work as food writers, editors and authors we seek out the story-behind-the-story, which is what I’ll share with you as we cook together. Brandon is my husband and co-author on the book cook. better.

What we’ll do
You’ll be welcomed into our home to master two Cape classics: The bobotie our mothers cooked for us (this is a baked dish of mildly spiced, minced lamb) and malva pudding, a wildly popular South African dessert that became my focus for a research project and published article about its origins. What else you should know
If you'd like to book a specific date and it's not on the calender, just drop us a message and let's see if we can arrange it for you!
What I’ll provide
Lunch (bobotie and malva)
Dairy and almonds are included in the ingredients. Please be in touch before booking if you have any food allergies.
What to bring
If you enjoy wine, a bottle of local Viognier or Chenin Blanc will pair well with the bobotie!
