What you'll do

This is going to be a one-hour guided experience where you learn about our four llamas and four suri alpacas, our farm, our bamboo forest, see our treehouse and beautiful structures. Wait until you see our baby alpaca, Elfie Fay Von Picklesprite. She looks like a muppet. All of our animals are rescues and have gone from (in some cases neglect and abuse), to a loving environment in our Bamboo Forest. You will learn about these highly intelligent animals, their herd dynamics, individual personalities, get up close to them, pet them, and learn about non verbal communications, and hierarchy.

If you're interested, we will look at the honeybee hives and learn about the role and fascinating lives of these valuable insects.

We will provide you with organic baby carrots and you'll get an opportunity to take selfies and group photos!
Other things to note
Please wear a mask. We will practice social distancing. Wear sensible shoes. We are a farm and oftentimes the ground is muddy. Be in a happy mood and ready to meet some really smart llamas and alpacas.

I’m the owner of Alpaca Treehouse in the Bamboo Forest and have operated this rescue urban farm utopia for eight years. I'm passionate about my sweet llamas, alpacas, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and their care. My animals are rescues and they are spoiled, vibrant, lovely creatures. I think of the alpacas and llamas as land dolphins or the closest thing there is to a unicorn (especially Dali Llama).

We will tour our small urban farm, meet the herd, stroll the bamboo forest, view the treehouse, tour our reclaimed built Bamboo Barn, and view the honeybees (from a safe distance) and learn a little about the beautiful amazing lives of these super important pollinators. Educating guests about our sweet herd of llamas and alpacas is a privilege and honor!

You'll get the opportunity to feed them organic baby carrots and get fabulous photos

Where you'll be

You will be on an urban farm in City of Atlanta surrounded by a small herd of llamas and alpacas. You’ll see our barn built of vintage and reclaimed house parts and stained glass and see our critically endangered chickens and ducks. We will walk through the magical bamboo forest and view the treehouse and our other outbuildings. If interested, we will look at the honeybee hives. We are in East Atlanta but you won't feel like you're in the City

Great experience in the middle of the city! Very interactive and fun, a little less engaging with the history of all the animals and a little unstructured but it was a fun experience! Such friendly animals!

This was such an awesome experience; highly recommend. It is obvious how much Kara loves her animals and the level of care she provides them. We learned so much about alpacas and llamas and greatly enjoyed being around them. Will definitely do again.

Kara has an amazing group of ladies, a mixture of Alpacas and Llamas. They all have comically unique names and they are SUPER SWEET. Her barn is full of rich history, timeless pieces and Kara's attention to detail is refreshingly authentic. An experience we will never forget!

This was a great experience! Kara was amazing, we were there about a week ago visiting family in GA and we thought why not have some fun with the Llamas and Alpacas. Over we got more an experience than we thought because we go to learn about the animals, pet, feed, and take pictures with them. It didn't end their Kara was amazing at letting us know the history of her properties and how everything just came to together from animal rescue to hosting special events, to building her unique tree house in a bamboo Forrest. All I am going to say is definitely book! Kara was great, knowledgeable, and welcoming. You are literally in ATL but you feel like your completely somewhere else. I really enjoyed Dolly Llama, she was my fav because you had to win her over but all the other animals are delightful. I am not going to spoil too much! Go book.
